Orange French Toast

This is a great and delicious breakfast for a lazy weekend morning. It’s so easy, there’s no need to wait for Saturday!

Orange French Toast (12) (948x1280)

• 2 eggs
• 2 slices thick white bread
• 1 juice of Orange
• 1 zest of Orange
• ¼ cup of milk
• 5 Tbs Marmalade
• 3 Tbs sugar
• 1Tbs butter
• pinch of ground cinnamon

Soak the bread slices in this mixture for 2 minutes each side. In the meantime, whisk the eggs, orange zest, milk and ground cinnamon in bowl.

Put the orange juice, marmalade and sugar in a pot and bring to the boil, then turn down the heat and let simmer for around 4 minutes.

Heat the butter in a pan and cook the eggy bread for about 2 minutes a side over a medium heat until golden.
Serve the French toast with the lovely orange syrup poured over.
