Hi Guys,

Happy New Year! We’re well into January now and while it might seem like a bit of a distant memory, I hope you all had a fantastic break and now back to your work or studies.

It was great to receive all the emails full of warm wishes from my followers and I appreciate all the suggestions that all of you out there suggested. I just hope you lot are keeping up with your new year’s resolution, I know i haven’t, I said to my self that i will go back to the Gym, quite coffee, start sleeping early, any of that happened? not at all.

This month I’m setting out to beat January blues with a collection of gorgeous comfort-food recipes like minestrone, winter soups and a few surprises. When it’s cold and miserable outside, (for instance minus 15 here) there’s nothing better sitting on the couch in front of the telly and enjoying a hearty bowl of your favourite food.

A few readers suggested to have a weekly post dedicated to a proverb related to food or cooking, so if you have any proverbs, sayings, idioms even a joke related to food or cooking, send it across and will be more than happy to post it, it can be even in your native language, as you can see in the first year 71 different countries have visited this site, as you can see from the map- not bad for the first, hoping to double it this year, if not triple – Canada being the most, then United States and United Kingdom, thanks to the translation widget on the bottom right hand that contains 12 languages so everyone can enjoy the recipes in their own language and for those of you who haven’t found your language, email me and will be more than glad to add your language translator.
Highest visitors was one day was on August 1, 2011 for
The Artful Cupcake.

There’s lots of brilliant stuff coming up in 2012. For example working on a smartphone application for this site, so you could check a recipe while you’re on the go, in addition working on a forum, where you all can chat to each other, exchange recipe ideas and maybe even help each other out with any problems you might have in the kitchen

I’m really excited about the new recipes I have been experimenting lately, so keep an eye out for updates. Last but not least, want to thank all the readers and followers for all the support, suggestion and ideas and don’t forget to tell your friends to subscribe to get fresh recipes delivered straight to your inbox.

Big love, xx
